Take the Golden Gate Bridge (N-101) until after Corte Madera. You’ll see an exit for San Quentin/Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Take that exit and keep left towards San Anselmo. (If you are coming S-101 from Novato, take the Sir Francis Drake Blvd. exit and keep toward the right.) Head west on Sir Francis Drake for approx 20 miles (about 35 minutes depending on traffic).

You’ll pass through Greenbrae, Ross, San Anselmo, Fairfax, then the San Geronimo Valley and Taylor State Park.

A couple miles out of the Taylor State Park you’ll see a green sign “OLEMA 2 MILES.” After two miles you will be descending into the village of Olema and will pass, on the right, “Roundstone Farm”. Then about 500 feet after that sign you will see the OLEMA COTTAGES sign on the right just before our driveway.

If you miss our driveway you’ll see the Sir and Star at the intersection of Hwy.1 and you’ll have passed us by just about 300 feet.

Scenic Alternative
As you can see on the map, we are pretty much at the intersection of Sir Francis Drake and Hwy.1. If you want to take the scenic coastal route (maybe 15 minutes longer), look for the Hwy.1 exit off N-101 in Mill Valley and take Hwy.1 through Stinson Beach, and past Bolinas Lagoon all the way to Olema – a very pretty drive. Turn right on Sir Francis Drake and look for our sign, 300 feet up the road on the left.

It’s fun to come here by one way and leave by the other.
